Taro or Gabi

I bought some taros and planted them last summer. They grow up so fast and already used the leaves and stalks for cooking. Taro is a root vegetable that is eaten in many different cultures around the world and has a rich history, with many possible recipes.
Taro is native to South India and Southeast Asia. It is a perennial, tropical plant primarily grown as a root vegetable for its edible starchy corm, and as a leaf vegetable. It is a food staple in African, Oceanic and South Indian cultures and is believed to have been one of the earliest cultivated plants.
According to wiki, Taro is called gabi in the Philippines and is widely available throughout the archipelago. The leaves, stems, and corms are consumed and form part of the local cuisine.

Online ka gapalit ug gabi mommy Dhemz. I miss ginataang gabi with ginamos. Hmmm.. my aunt used to make gabi dishes with coconut milk and I love it so much. For some reason though when my mom cooks it, I don't like it as much as hers. LOL! My aunt knows how to cook her gabi really well. I want me some too!
